Serenity performed Aerial hoop last night for the Community Pride Awards. The event presented by Kate Silverton was held at the LSO building (London Symphony orchestra) in Old street.
The venue was a beautiful space with a great height to perform aerial.
We were very pleased with our performance and received a huge reception from the audience
Serenity were very proud to be chosen to perform at this event and hope to show other performances at next years event.

Due to the eruption of the Icelandic volcano, Eyjafjallajokull, spewing out millions of cubic metres of ash, Natasha and louise had their trips abroad cancelled.
Louise was travelling on a weekend cruise to croatia, performing dance numbers and her solo contortion act to hundreds of passengers. she was very disappointed that she couldnt perform having done all the rehearsals and never been to Croatia before.
Natasha was due to travel to India to do a silks gig for a private party and after alot of anticipated waiting it was cancelled. Having never been to India she was also very disappointed.
Hopefully an opportunity will again arise where they will finally travel to these destinations

Serenity have recently been training very hard with new ideas and upcoming acts.
Whilst we like to keep old acts up to scratch we also love getting into the circusspace and having a play around, creating new things together.
We have been trying new acro/contortion moves with each other and its great for my strength holding Louise up. Cannot wait to put these new moves into our act.
Recently we have been concentrating on the Aerial Net act. Which is coming together very nicely. We have been trying out new lifts and more effective acrobatic moves in the air for the peice. Also as its on a swivel we are trying to get it to spin as fast as we can with both of us hanging on it at the same time.
With the music we have chosen, we have created a lovely aquatic feel to the peice imaging we are fish/mermaid like in the water and are getting caught up in the net in the ocean. The music being called Oceanic and the costumes a silver fishscale look.
With the right lights this peice is amazing.

Serenity have recently done a photoshoot with the great photographer Matilda Temperley, sister of designer Alice Temperley.
The photoshoot which took place last week had some final outstanding pictures which are going to be shown in a gallery for support towards the Charity Circuschild. Created by Matilda Temperley.
Serenity had pictures taken showing their solo and double contortion ability and also static dance positions and moving dance positions like leaps and jumps in the air.
The pictures show the different lines and body positions a circus performer can create and the amazing muscle definitions.
As the photoshoot was a success, Serenity have been asked to do another photoshoot with Matilda but this time with more of a fashion feel.

Louise recently travelled to Barcelona for the world mobile expo. Working with Jack Morton Worldwide delivered a fantastic flying effect as the finale of the presentation of the new Samsung wave. Louise Gibb appeared from a trap door and flew around the stage on a counter weight system. All the clients were very pleased with the results. Please have a look at the YouTube Link below:

We have just finished 5 weeks performing in a christmas show in St Albans called Nostrovia.
At the beginning of the show we did some Aerial Hoop hangabout and some podium slots in which Louise did a Contortion Solo and Natasha did a dance number with some girls.
In the main show we performed double Aerial Hoop and Double Aerial Silks. Also we participated in all the dancing numbers with quite a bit of partner adagio work.
The show was a success and big sell out most nights. We thoroughly enjoyed doing the christmas performances and cannot wait to do a similar thing next year.

Aerial silk (also known as aerial contortion, aerial ribbons, aerial silks, aerial tissues, fabric, ribbon, or tissu, depending on regional preference) is a type of performance in which one or more artists perform aerial acrobatics while suspended by a special fabric. The performer climbs the suspended fabric without the use of safety lines, and rely only on their training and skill to ensure safety. The performer uses the fabric to wrap, suspend, fall, swing, and spiral their body into and out of various positions. Aerial silks may be used to fly through the air, striking poses and figures while flying. Routines are an exciting display of athleticism, coordination and flexibility.
